Why do the later motor stacks not charge on Chademo?

Has anyone found a work around or a way of charging with CCS2?

Not very elegant, but you can use the conversion / adaptors that Leaf owners use. Not cheap though. Thereโ€™s a few versions around. I know in the UK, thereโ€™s a Leaf forum that has had good results with the EV Boy type.

I've heard the BMS messaging is more complex. @isak has been working on it a while, not sure of where it currently stands or if that's really the issue

In the later stacks the logic for Chademo was moved from the pdm to the cars vcu so it won't work

Does anyone know if I can run the 40kwh leaf battery motor and inverter with an earlier PMD to get chademo charging? @isak ๐Ÿ™‚

@Saabel Are you saying you can run a 200hp motor with an 100hp PDM to get DC CHAdeMO charging? Have you done this? I am trying to decide if I want to go with the 100HP to get DC charging or go with the 200HP and only have AC charging. Thanks

yes, i am running my old 120 hp 3.3 kw PDM unit with full Chademo and new 210 hp inverter and motor , you need to fix a little in the harness, not exactly the same connectors , but not that much. next step I have a 7 kw Old unit ( a little rare here in sweden ) ready to go in this winter for "good to have". --> So use old wiring for PDM and new wiring for inverter. it is described by Isak in the wiring but maybe not super easy to get initally https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-MKLxoBYLWn_ywoVPNeDJRtGWCbPHTkntxF0TH2A_gs/edit?tab=t.0
