I just went in on the forum and saw a bunch of new messages! Unfortunately a little later than I would have liked to. But I will check on the forum more often in the future. If you want to get my attention and make it easy for me to see the post just @isak me and I'll get a notification

Regarding wiring, I didn’t use the 3rd (square one) of the 3 connectors on the outside of the battery that supplied the car’s hvac stuff. I just cut that section including the socket off the aluminium metal work. So any wiring that connected to that on the inside of the battery was left out in my build. It’s possible in the future I may get back to wanting heating, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Not very elegant, but you can use the conversion / adaptors that Leaf owners use. Not cheap though. There’s a few versions around. I know in the UK, there’s a Leaf forum that has had good results with the EV Boy type.

Also. What is preventing the use of chademo on the later leaf hardware? Is this ever likely to be fixed?

You should wire it so that it can turn on during charging, but it won't turn on during chademo charging since no power converson happens then ( so no loss that heats up the PDM / OBC). So instead of wiring from ignition you should wire it directly to the 12V. However for most ev conversions the fan never turns on because not that much heat is generated either when driving or charging
