New battery cells with Leaf BMS
-
@isak do you have experience with using new CATL or CALB cells with the Leaf BMS?
Prices are now at the point where it is starting to make sense to purchase new modules.
My old 24kwh pack only has around 110 km range. In Australia there are not many options for 62 kwh batteries in crashed Leaf. -
Hello @matthewjstead and @KoduEV sorry for the late reply. Using other cell types with the leaf bms is not something I have done and can not really recommend. I know there are companies in China and on Alibaba that offer Leaf replacement packs with other cell types. I have heard from customers who have had success with that but can't really recommend it since I haven't tested it myself and don't know how it works

Hi , @matthewjstead @KoduEV @isak . I have installed the 62kwh Yaste kit with the Yaste CAN bridge. It works but I have an issue with the Chademo charging and regen since the upgrade. I suspect it may be a communication issue between CAN bridge and resolve EV but can't rule out a hardware issue with the OBC. I also have an issue with charging not stopping autumatically at 100% but no problem with the 85%. other then that it's fine. we be happy to hear if any one has any ideas how to Diagnose those issues and fix them? that would help a whole lot of potential resolve EV users that would like a battery upgrade.
