Hi team, Does anyone know if the Radiator fan comes on when charging either using Chademo or Type 2 charging. I have currently wired it up to fused busbar that only gets power when the ignition is switched on and works when driving, but not sure about charging, should i wire it to an always on power source?

Hi, I would appreciate having a quick checklist-style guide for analysing possible malfunctions or error states. After reviewing the commonly available Leaf DBC files, it’s clear that there are many signals to examine. Unfortunately, not all of them are present, since the Resolve controller acts as the VCU and orchestrates much of the system. I’m particularly interested in identifying reliable CAN bus signals that indicate the pre‑charge state, main contactor states, and overall vehicle state (off / on / charging). If possible, gear status (N / R / D) would also be very useful. It would be extremely helpful to have a Resolve‑EV‑specific DBC file containing only the relevant messages and signals. This would greatly simplify troubleshooting and diagnostic work. Being able to determine the vehicle’s on/off/charging state via CAN messages would also make it much easier to integrate additional components such as heaters, A/C compressors, and other auxiliary systems.

Not quite ready, but wheels are turning now! I tried to use the Leaf reduction gearbox. Unfortunately there was no space. So there is now a straight shaft from the bare motor to the rear diff. The motor wont run on optimal RPM, but the original Spitfire engine produces 70 hp at 6000 Rpm, so I hope this will be OK. The car is very low and uses a leaf spring over the rear axels. So putting the complete drivetrain in the rear would be too much work for me. Spring 2026, it will be rolling.

Wheels are now turning! HV relays turning on and off with the ignition key. I have an American J1772 charge port..NOT a Euro Type2. So the white wire is to be connected to the white. Oled screen still dead thou. So I guess I need a replacement. Still in a bit of euforia 🥰

@isak do you have experience with using new CATL or CALB cells with the Leaf BMS? Prices are now at the point where it is starting to make sense to purchase new modules. My old 24kwh pack only has around 110 km range. In Australia there are not many options for 62 kwh batteries in crashed Leaf.

@Sebbe1337, yeah, that's the plan. Since the torque box I found is expensive, it's also good for weight balance.

Hi Moha, the progress is not that fast. I started about a year ago. Its not much left to do, but I'm just sharing what I did here whenever I have some time. Ground clearance changed a bit. But the lowest part isnt the battery pack. Its the engine stack. Despite the height of the battery pack it itsnt the lowest point as there is so much space for the gas cyliners. They have a diameter of 30cm. [image: 1765709896866-20250331_140604-resized.jpg] To increase the ground clearance I changed the springs. The multipla had 30mm lowered Novitec springs. They were a bit old as well, so it was more than 30mm lowered. Now it got stronger springs from diesel/natural gas versions plus additional springs at the back to compensate the additional weight on the rear axel due to the battery pack. Here the old setup [image: 1765709904853-20250313_194959-resized.jpg] old vs new [image: 1765709918937-20250325_165856-resized.jpg] and the new setup [image: 1765709931562-20250313_194950-resized.jpg]
